PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Ave Maria University seeks a Graphic Designer to be a part of a content marketing team. The Graphic Designer is responsible for creating, managing, and executing multi-channel design assets to meet or exceed brand management, consistent external advertising, and marketing goals for Ave Maria University.

The ideal candidate has experience with graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suites, content marketing, designing both digital and print projects, layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, and brand management.  All employees must understand the mission of Catholic higher education and be committed to supporting the core values, mission, goals and objectives of Ave Maria University.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create and design various materials for print marketing, including magazines, brochures, viewbooks, presentations, direct-mail pieces, and advertisements.
Create and design digital marketing pieces for website landing pages, email marketing, social media posts, YouTube thumbnails, and more.
Ensure projects are completed with exceptional quality and on schedule.
Ensure brand guidelines are kept.
Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications and time constraints.
Perform retouching and manipulation of images.
Manage a team of student worker designers, contractors, and agencies as needed.
EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s degree
EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years of experience in graphic design, preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and web
Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, InDesign, and other graphic design software
Compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects
Strong analytical skills
Excellent eye for detail
Experience with webflow a plus
Experience designing emails for marketing purposes a plus
Must support the University’s Catholic mission
PHYSICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information, ability to hear in order to answer telephones and to communicate verbally, and the ability to sit for extended periods of time.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed indoors with minimal safety hazards, and requires seated, standing, and movement work.
