Overview

PRIMARY PURPOSE:  Ave Maria University seeks a Social Media Coordinator to join a dynamic marketing team. The Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for researching trends, defining benchmarks, reviewing analytics, and overseeing the for creation and execution of all social media posts for Ave Maria University.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement, and manage our social media strategy
  • Define most important social media KPIs
  • Research audience preferences and discover current trends
  • Connect social campaigns with broader strategic goals around funnels and conversions; conduct social media conversion tracking.
  • Manage and oversee social media content, including posts, reels, stories, tweets, guides, and more
  • Create engaging text, image, and video content
  • Manage posting, community engagement, and growth of all the University’s social media accounts including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn
  • Design posts to sustain readers’ curiosity and create buzz around new events at the University
  • Ensure content is informative and appealing
  • Collaborate with other departments, clubs, and athletic teams to ensure other University accounts are meeting brand and quality standards
  • Manage remarketing campaigns
  • Measure the success of every social media campaign
  • Keep abreast of the latest social media best practices and technologies
  • Use social media marketing tools for scheduling, analytics, and reporting
  • Monitor SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimization
  • Communicate with industry professionals and influencers via social media to create a strong network
  • Design and present social media presentations
  • Work collaboratively with marketing team and contractors to implement paid social media advertising
  • Work with marketing team to integrate content with University web, blog, email, and other content platforms and audiences
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications and time constraints
  • Attend University-sanctioned events when relevant and post on social platforms in real-time
  • Manage a social media calendar, connecting greater marketing goals across platforms

EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing or a related area
EXPERIENCE: Experience in social media management preferred. Experience in the digital marketing space a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  

  • Passion for social media and proficiency with major social media platforms and social media management tools
  • Proficiency with video and photo editing tools and digital media formats
  • Excellent social listening skills
  • Ability to understand historical, current, and future trends in the digital content and social media space
  • Strong copywriting and copy editing skills
  • Top-notch oral and verbal communication skills
  • Impeccable time management skills with the ability to multitask
  • Detail-oriented approach with ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Must support the University’s Catholic mission

PHYSICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Requires ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10 – 20 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, type and perform data entry, visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information, ability to hear in order to answer telephones and to communicate verbally, and the ability to sit for extended periods of time.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed indoors with minimal safety hazards, and requires seated, standing, and movement work. Will periodically attend various campus events.
