Overview
The Communications Program at Ave Maria University seeks an Assistant or Associate professor to teach a range of courses that will complement the program’s current offerings in communication studies, rhetoric, and writing. The specialization is open, but the successful candidate will be able to teach the Department’s Rhetoric & Poetics (RETP) courses, which cover the rhetorical and literary tradition from antiquity onwards and which instruct students in writing and speaking.
The ideal candidate will also be willing and able to teach courses in media, public speaking, communication practice (e.g., public relations, advocacy, event planning, etc.), and corporate communication.
The ability to instruct hands-on courses in media production, film, screenwriting, journalism, and/or graphic design will be considered favorably.
All candidates should be excited to develop communication courses for a program rooted in the rhetorical tradition and the Catholic intellectual, spiritual, and social traditions. Candidates must have a PhD, MFA, or equivalent (ABD considered).
