Social Work Program, School of Professional Programs

The Social Work Program, housed in the School of Professional Programs at Franciscan University of Steubenville (FUS), invites applications for a nine-month, full-time, tenure track, open-rank position to begin by January 2022. The Program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and serves approximately 80 majors. FUS is an academically excellent and passionately Catholic university in the Franciscan tradition, located 24 miles west of Pittsburgh International Airport.

The successful candidate must hold an MSW from a CSWE accredited program with a doctoral degree in social work or a closely related field preferred at the time of employment. A minimum of three years of post-MSW practice experience is expected, and one year of teaching experience is preferred. Program needs include teaching both required and elective social work courses, program leadership, and assistance with accreditation responsibilities. Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service, and support the Mission of the university.

Duties of this position include teaching in the social work program, advising and mentoring students, participation in university committees, program leadership and service, and scholarly production.
