Schedule:  Full-time; Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Occasional evenings or weekends, as required

POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Director of Alumni and Constituent Relations serves the University through the strategic engagement of alumni and constituents (students, parents, friends, benefactors, and pilgrims) through events, programs and communication, to foster a culture of engagement and philanthropy to advance the University’s vision of becoming the leading instrument for worldwide renewal at the service of the Catholic Church.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.     Contributes to and supports the strategic engagement plan for alumni and constituents, which is aligned to serve the goals of Advancement and the broader vision and strategies of the University through increased alumni and constituent support of the University, moving alumni from attraction to connection to affection to influence.  Researches metrics for determining alumni and constituent engagement including net promoter scores and alumni engagement index.

2.     Plans and coordinates on-campus, regional/constituent events and special events that align with the goals of Advancement and the mission of the University, including room reservations, catering orders and payments. Establishes timelines, digital and printed marketing materials, online initiatives, logistics, budget and post event follow up, including surveys that determine metrics of engagement.

3.     Responsible for online outreach to alumni, including the maintenance of the Alumni website through Blackbaud NetCommunity and the creation of website parts including the events calendar, photo galleries, alumni directory, email marketing, and event registration pages.

4.     Creates, executes and manages social media platforms for the Alumni Office, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Baron Bridge.

5.    Serves as the Board Secretary for the Franciscan University Alumni Board. Keeps meeting minutes, creates agendas and maintains the Alumni Board Directory as well as Board bylaws, policies and meeting attendance.

REQUIREMENTS

Must understand, support and embrace the mission of Franciscan University of Steubenville and possess the following:

 

Work Experience

·         Three to four years of experience in higher education advancement, alumni relations, development or a similar field preferred.

·         Demonstrated achievements in event planning.

·         Proven project management skills and experience.

·         Experience with web management, preferably Blackbaud or Net community.

Education

·         Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required.

 

Technical Skills

·         Experience planning and managing events and working with committees required.

·         Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office programs, Adobe, email, image editing and Customer Relationship Management software (preferably Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and Mail Chimp) required.

·         Attention to detail, process management, and organization abilities required, along with strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

 

Workplace Factors

·         Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends.

·         Occasional travel, as required.

·         Must be able to operate in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.
