Department:  Conference Office, Outreach & Evangelization

FLSA Status:  Exempt

Schedule:  Full-time; Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with extended hours throughout the summer and during the year as needed; occasional travel required.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager of Adult Programming works to enhance, grow, plan, and execute the programming for Steubenville Adult Conferences and additional adult programming initiatives.  This includes research, strategic planning, and collaboration with colleagues and external constituents.  It also includes direct management of thematic development, schedules, speakers, hosts, worship leaders, and programming execution.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.     Manages and collaborates with the programming teams and office staff to brainstorm and plan the schedule, speakers, and talk topics for each conference, event, and/or program.  This includes writing a theme development document (containing talk outlines).  Develops and finalizes all adult conference programming and schedules.

 

2.     Serves as Program Director for all adult conferences. This includes working with conference office staff as well as all other on-campus departments and external vendors/contractors year-round for planning and during conferences.  This also includes training and managing the student programming assistants for conferences, and customer service for conference participation, as needed.

 

3.     In consultation with conference office directors, researches, creates and implements strategic growth plan which includes programming enhancements aimed at increasing attendance and improving participant experience. This includes overseeing programming evaluations and implementing beneficial feedback.

 

4.     Annually selects the host and programming team for planning each adult conference and sends invitations to all ministry team members (speakers, hosts, and musicians).  This includes managing responses and inputting information into a database.

 

5.     Collaborates with office staff and external constituents to plan and manage additional adult programming initiatives, as needed.  This includes functioning as a third-party administrator for conferences put on by other campus departments and external organizations, as needed.

 

6.     Collaborates with marketing team to develop and implement marketing efforts for all adult programming.

 

7.     Manages relationships with all ministry team members, partnering organizations, vendors and contractors who execute adult programming.

REQUIREMENTS

Must understand, support and embrace the mission of Franciscan University of Steubenville and possess the following:

 

Work Experience

·         3-5 years of experience in ministry, including development of Catholic ministry programming.

·         3 years of experience in managing projects and working on teams preferred.

·         Strategic Thinking and Creativity: Follows trends and anticipates future implications; demonstrates broad knowledge as well as attention to detail; can facilitate and contribute to brainstorming; develops strategies and implementation plans for the growth and enhancement of adult programming.

 

Education

·         Bachelor’s degree in Theology and/or Catechetics preferred.

 

Technical Skills

·         Proficient in common Microsoft Suite applications (Word, Excel, SharePoint, OneNote, PowerPoint, etc.).

·         Experience with web-based applications, project management software, and databases such as Salesforce).

 

Workplace Factors

·         Extended hours throughout the summer and during the year, as needed.

·         Various 2- 3-day travel throughout the year.
