Overview

JPCatholic is seeking a dynamic, accomplished and mission driven Career Services Specialist to support the University’s mission, goals, and objectives for student placement in internships, part-time and full-time jobs.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:

  • Establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with students, alumni, faculty, and employers
  • Initiate contact with employers throughout Southern California, using a variety of outreach efforts, to build a relationship between them and the University with the goal of understanding their hiring practices, interesting them in hiring students and alumni and obtaining information on any current job opportunities
  • Using our Infusionsoft CRM to regularly schedule group workshops and individual student appointments in their pursuit of part-time jobs, internships and full-time jobs
  • Provide career development, planning, counseling, occupational information, referrals to assist students with the career development process, aiding them in their transition from college to career
  • Maintain jobs and placement database, detailing the needs and accomplishments of all students and alumni
  • Circulate information on local PT jobs, regional internships and national FT jobs
  • Prepare regular data reports relevant to the professional opportunity needs and placement of all students and alumni
  • Provide and update career related library resources
  • Plan and hold frequent job fairs as well as on-campus recruiting events
  • Provide information on graduate schools, admissions, and general financial aid
  • Maintain/update career services social media platforms
  • Coordinate our Impact Culture Speaker Series
  • Assist in the implementation of the Career Services & Development aspects of the student My Success Plan
  • Support and abide with all policies, regulations, and guidelines of JPCatholic
  • Be an appropriate role model for students and alumni at all times.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required within the Creative Arts and/or Business Innovation disciplines
  • 5 years industry experience post-graduation in the Creative Arts and/or Business
  • Strong ability to develop relationships
  • Demonstrated knowledge of career opportunities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of EXCEL and database software with excellent analytical and conceptual problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of career planning competencies
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with a broad array of faculty, staff and students
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent verbal, written, and collaborative skills, as well as impeccable confidentiality is required.
