Saint Vincent de Paul High School is seeking an English teacher for the 2021-22 academic year to help fulfill its mission of guiding students to encounter Jesus Christ in His transforming truth and love. We are seeking a teacher committed to opening doorways to wonder via literature and language, someone who sees literature as a vehicle toward the revelation of truths of the human condition.
By exploring the great works of our heritage, this teacher can guide young hearts to insights from a Catholic worldview on the moral outlook of man and the beauty of his creative imagination. Through writing, students will learn to exercise this same imaginative faculty while also honing writing and rhetoric as skills at the service of the pursuit and communication of truth.
The teacher will develop and maintain collaborative, productive work relationships with colleagues, students, parents and any other individuals in a position to meet student needs and advance their growth, development, and achievement.
A bachelor’s degree is required. Given archdiocesan policies, Missouri teacher certification is helpful but not immediately required, such that its absence should not deter you from applying.
Please include a resume with your application.
