Duties of the Position
• Teach Applied Music Piano (MUS 201 01 and MUS 401 01) to music students for whom piano is the primary performance area
• Prepare students for recitals as per their program requirements (MUS 371 and MUS 471)
• Possible academic courses in music theory, aural skills, or music appreciation
• Maintain accurate student records, including syllabi, attendance, and grading using the University of Mary Learning Management Systems
• Contribute to the ethos of the Music Department and the School of Arts and Sciences
• Uphold the mission and values of the University of Mary and the Department of Music
Compensation
• Compensation for Applied Music and Recitals is based on a per credit/per student system at the University rate
• Compensation for other courses is based on the University rate for adjunct course instruction
• There are no benefits associated with this position
Position Requirements
• Masters degree in music with an emphasis in piano performance; doctorate degree preferred
• Significant experience teaching advanced piano students
• U.S. Citizenship or appropriate work visa
Dates of Employment: September 2023 through April 2024, with the possibility of renewal for subsequent years.
