Associate Dean of Arts & Letters

The University of Mary in Bismarck, ND, invites applications for a position as Associate Dean of Arts & Letters in the School of Arts and Sciences to begin as soon as possible. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Associate Dean of Arts and Letters provides leadership and guidance within the School of Arts and Sciences within four essential roles:

• Assisting the Dean
• Overseeing the Human and Divine Sciences Academic Programs (Theology, Philosophy, History/History Education, Politics, Economics, Sociology, and Social Studies Education).
• Overseeing the University-Wide Programs housed in the School of Arts & Sciences (Gregorian Honors Program, University Convocations, Liberal Arts Core Curriculum, URead Program)
• Teaching in his or her discipline
Within these roles, the Associate Dean is accountable for a variety of tasks including planning, organizing, directing, evaluating, supporting enrollment, and teaching.

Strong candidates for this position will be deeply committed to growing in holiness and virtue; have prior administrative and teaching experience in higher education; demonstrate vision, leadership and aptitude in overseeing academic programs; and maintain a commitment to the mission and values of the University of Mary both within and outside of the University. An earned doctoral degree or equivalent terminal degree in a humanities or social science discipline that are taught in the School of Arts & Sciences at the University of Mary is required.
