Student Accounts Associate

 

The University of Mary in Bismarck, ND is inviting applications for a Student Accounts Associate. This position is responsible for assisting students with questions about their student account and maintaining the daily operations of the office of student accounts.

 

Candidates will be invited to demonstrate a willingness to support the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.

 

Essential Roles and Responsibilities Include:

•               Answer and respond to all student questions about their account

•               Receive and process a variety of transactions such as credit card payments, application fees, tuition deposits, EFT transfers, late fees and finance charges

•               Review individual student accounts for accurate posting of charges, application of financial aid, compliance of payment, and financial hold maintenance

•               Review, monitor, and authorize all third party billing and collections pertaining to student accounts receivable

•               Maintain Flat Fee Program and Global Study Program charges and fees

•               Administer the University’s official payment plan, checking and maintaining all accounts for accuracy

•               Process credit card and payment transactions for Registrar’s Office (transcripts) and Student Development (room/board, and any miscellaneous housing charges)

•               Ensure uncollectible accounts are accounted for and sent to collections

•               Room deposit reporting

•               Download and post bookstore charges on a daily basis to individual’s student accounts

•               Process and verify the accuracy of tuition deposits via reporting on monthly basis

•               Process credit card and payment transactions for Registrar’s Office and Student Development

•               Check holds for Registrar’s Office

•               Monitor and respond to Student Account email

•               Review, monitor, and authorize all third party billing and collections pertaining to student accounts receivable to include:

·               Military (Go Army, Airforce, Chapter 33, VS Voc Rehab)

·               High School Dual Credit Classes

 

Desired Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Experience include:

•               Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is required

•               B.S. in Business/Finance/Accounting is preferred with two years’ experience in Finance, Accounting or related field

•               Upholds and supports the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary

•               Supports the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities

•               Builds a culture of ready and earnest hospitality in the Office of Financial Affairs and throughout the university, in accord with Saint Benedict’s admonition that all be received as Christ

 

Knowledge and Skills Required:

•               Must possess superior customer service skills

•               Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills

•               Able to handle a fast-paced work environment with deadline pressure

•               Able to plan and carry out responsibility with minimal direction

•               Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel

•               Attentiveness to detail

•               Strong accounting practices
