We are currently seeking applications from outstanding candidates for a full-time, term faculty member, Assistant Professor of Irish Studies and Assistant Director of the William J. Flynn Center for Irish Studies, in the inter-disciplinary Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences and Global Affairs.
Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities for this position will be to teach courses in Irish Studies in support of the University’s flagship Irish Studies programming. Candidates should have a strong academic background in Irish Studies as well as in their areas of expertise within Irish Studies. The person in this position will also be expected to teach courses in other disciplines within his/her expertise. Areas of academic focus that will be considered for the position will include Irish Literature, Drama and Film, Political Science, History, International Studies and Irish Language. Responsibilities will also include promoting student participation in Irish Studies, taking students on study abroad, and helping manage and coordinate the Center’s cultural outreach programing.
Educational Prerequisites: A conferred Ph.D. in Irish Studies or related fields, is required by the contract start date and before the beginning of the Fall 2023 semester.

Deadlines and other requirements: This position will remain open until filled. The committee will begin reviewing applications on April 15, 2023.
