The University of St. Thomas (www.stthom.edu), a private Catholic university located in Houston, Texas and committed to the liberal arts and the religious and intellectual tradition of Catholic higher education, is seeking a Director for the Nesti Center for Faith and Culture (NCFC).

About the Center

The Nesti Center for Faith and Culture provides education and formation to help people examine, understand, discern, and live out the relationship between the Gospel’s universal call to love and the worldview and values of the dominant American culture. Founded in 1994, the NCFC aims to bring a faithfully Catholic voice to the ongoing dialogue between faith and culture. Through this dialogue, the Center seeks to foster relationships, mutual understanding, and opportunities for collaboration with people of all backgrounds and beliefs. The NCFC offers multiple academic programs, learning opportunities, and ecumenical, interreligious, diocesan and community partnerships. Participants in NCFC programs address America’s complex social, political, and religious questions through reflection, dialogue, scholarship, and civic experience.

The Director of the NCFC (Director) is the primary leader responsible for all of the NCFC’s academic programs, student activities, pastoral, ecumenical, and interfaith initiatives, and faculty/staff. The Director speaks for the NCFC with respect to its policies, priorities, and official statements. The Director ensures all courses and programs offered by the NCFC meet the education standards established by the University of St. Thomas in accordance with Church teachings and in compliance with SACSCOC. The Director also effectively communicates the NCFC’s mission to internal and external constituencies, develops strategic partnerships that further the NCFC’s goals and objectives, and manages the NCFC’s finances, including overseeing fundraising. The Director reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
