The University of St. Thomas (UST), a private Catholic University committed to the liberal arts and the religious and intellectual tradition of Catholic higher education, located in Houston, Texas, near the vibrant central business district, Texas Medical Center, and museum district, is seeking applicants for a full-time Assistant Director for St. John Paul II Studies and Associate or Full Professor position in the St. John Paul II Institute This position reports directly to the Director of the St. John Paul II Institute.
The Assistant Director for St. John Paul II Studies will have responsibilities for developing and managing the St. John Paul II studies program in the St John Paul II Institute. The programs include graduate MA and Certificate programs and undergraduate minor.
Administrative Duties will include
Recruiting and managing students and adjunct faculty
Course development and resource acquisition
Promotion and marketing
Leading and teaching study abroad trips in Poland
Coordinate contacts with Polish scholars and Institutions
Cultivating contacts for fund raising efforts
Professorial duties: 2-3 graduate classes and 1-2 undergraduate classes per year; active scholarship and publication in the areas of expertise
Qualifications: PhD degree in philosophy required with expertise in Thomistic personalism and the thoughts of Karol Wojtyla;
A member of the Catholic Church in good standing is required.
