Student Success Coordinator

Title V Core Program 2023-2028

The University of St. Thomas, a private univeristy (www.stthom.edu) committed to the liberal arts and to the religious and intellectual tradition of catholic higher education, is seeking a Student Success Coordinator for the Title V CORE Program. This position reports to the Project Manager. The Student Success Coordinator will manage a student caseload and deliver hands-on, intrusive, proactive student support influenced by the coaching theory of Bettinger and Baker and the cultural wealth and cultural awareness theories of Nora, Rendon, et. al. This position will coach students, arrange for peer mentor training, and ensure students are accessing and completing wrap-around service referrals. The Coordinator will monitor the data collected on students coached and support the Project Director and Program Manager with the collection of student academic, performance, and retention data, research, and peer-to-peer mentoring data. The Student Success Coordinator will provide program and student data collection and evaluation support to the Title V Project Director, Program Manager, and program evaluator as requested.

Responsibilities

Complete and maintain records for grant reporting and internal campus reporting
Provide referrals to wrap-around support services for Hispanic and low-income students
Coach students and track and report usage of other wrap-around services as appropriate
Work with the Project Director, Program Manager, and UST Administration to institutionalize improvements.
Will work with the Project Director, Program Manager, other Title V CORE Program grant staff, and Peer Mentors to ensure all Title V project goals and objectives are completed on time and within budget.
Other duties as required.

Qualifications

MA/MS in Advising or related discipline.
Three years of experience supporting low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent rapport with university-wide communities and external resources.
Familiarity with education fields.
Bilingual skills will be preferred.
