Overview

Franciscan University of Steubenville invites applications for a full-time, tenure track, assistant or associate professor position in Catechetics and Evangelization in the Department of Theology, beginning August 2025. FUS is an academically excellent and passionately Catholic university in the Franciscan tradition, located 24 miles west of Pittsburgh International Airport. The successful candidate must have the following:

  • an appropriate Ph.D., S.T.D., or D.Min. is required at time of employment, but ABD candidates will be considered.
  • at least ten years of successful experience in the field is required
  • Candidates with demonstrated experience in ministry with the Hispanic/Latino audience will be preferred.
  • capacity to contribute to academic research in catechetics.
  • Support for the Mission Statement of the University, including a willingness to get a Mandatum and take the Oath of Fidelity (https://franciscan.edu/mission-charisms/)
  • Willingness to move to Steubenville or its environs
