The Administrative Assistant for Student Life provides administrative and secretarial assistance to the administrative team of Student Life (Vice President for Student Life, Assistant Vice President for Student Life, and the Dean of Students).



1.     Provide administrative and secretarial support to the administrative team of Student Life (Vice President for Student Life, Assistant Vice President for Student Life, and the Dean of Students), including calendar management and scheduling meetings, event coordination, occasional correspondence, taking minutes for committee meetings, and handing inquiries from students, staff, parents, and others; provide occasional administrative and secretarial support services to various Student Life staff.

2.     Assist with the preparation of various reports and projects including the Student Life Dashboard, the Academic and Major Events Calendar, and other special projects during the school year. Prepare and monitor student life budgets across the department.  Facilitate the logistical aspects of the discipline process.

3.     Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) reporting to the Director of International Student Services.

4.     Create content and schedule social media posts for student life areas. Compile and publish the weekly online Student Bulletin.

5.     Maintain supplies and equipment in the student life office.

6.     Hire, supervise, and train Student Life student receptionists.

Work Experience

·         Experience in accounting, budgeting, and financial processes.

·         Experience in office administration and customer service.

·         Demonstrated and excellent experience with budgets, bookkeeping, record keeping and organizational filing.

·         Quality of Work: Adheres to the standards or expectations of performance set for a given job; effectively applies policies and procedures to a given job.

·         Associates degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.


Technical Skills

·         Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Word and Excel.

·         Proficiency in other software applications including Jenzabar and Raisers Edge.

·         Proficiency in design software like Lightroom or Canva for use in social media content creation.


Workplace Factors

·         Fast-paced environment with noise and interruptions.

·         Occasional evening and weekend work.
