Schedule:  Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM; Must be available to work a flexible schedule: evening and weekend work required.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Audiovisual (AV) Technical Coordinator manages and oversees the audiovisual, video, sound, livestream, and projection needs for University events that occur primarily in the J.C. Williams Center, Christ the King Chapel, and Finnegan Fieldhouse including Summer Conferences. The AV Technical Coordinator is dedicated to meeting the expectation and requirements of both external and internal customers. This role works with students, staff, and outside contractors (if necessary) to deliver excellent audiovisual services including sound, projection, and lighting to all departments utilizing the J.C. Williams Center and Finnegan Fieldhouse. The AV Technical Coordinator oversees acquisition and maintenance of all sound equipment on campus. This role also records and/or edits other University audio and video projects as assigned.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1.     Set up, operate, manage, and support all audiovisual, sound, lighting, livestream, and projection needs for campus events scheduled in the J.C. Williams Center, Christ the King Chapel, and Finnegan Fieldhouse. Support internal and external customers in providing audiovisual support and excellent customer service for events in the J.C. Williams Center and Finnegan Fieldhouse.

 

2.     Hire, train, and supervise a staff of student audiovisual assistants in sound setup, projector use, lighting, and other related duties.

 

3.     Responsible for the acquisition, installation, and general maintenance of all sound equipment. Repairs and/or arranges for repair or replacement of all sound equipment on campus. Maintains an inventory of all sound and lighting equipment on campus.

 

4.     Assist in the coordination of large campus events and meetings. Play an advisory role in recommending AV solutions for event and meeting spaces in Finnegan Fieldhouse and in the J.C. Williams Center.

 

5.     Manage the “Crow’s Nest” in Finnegan Fieldhouse, establishing policies for use and accessibility.

 

6.     Assist with certain IT help desk functions on an as-needed basis.

REQUIREMENTS

Must understand, support and embrace the mission of Franciscan University of Steubenville and possess the following:

 

Work Experience

·         Demonstrated experience in operating sound systems, projectors, lighting, livestream equipment, and other related audiovisual equipment; experience training others in use of this equipment preferred.

·         Experience in creating and managing an inventory.

·         Experience in audio and video editing in Adobe Audition/Adobe Premiere or another audio/video editing software.

·         Experience in live event production is critical.

Education

·         Minimum of an Associate degree or relevant technical degree.

 

Technical Skills

·         Knowledge of analog and digital video, audio systems, standard and live projection systems, and livestreaming equipment.

·         Skilled knowledge of Mac/PC computers, presentation software, and AV equipment.

·         Experience with audio systems and recording in multiple formats a must.

·         Ability to edit audio and video productions in Adobe Audition/Adobe Premiere.

 

Workplace Factors

·         Knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith preferred.

·         Must be available to work a flexible schedule. Physically capable of moving 30-40 lbs. of equipment and setting up equipment as needed.

·         Must be able to multitask.
