FLSA Status:  Exempt

Schedule:  Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., evening and weekend hours required

POSITION SUMMARY

The Coordinator of Household Life will manage all aspects of household life under the direction of the Director of Evangelization and Household Life.  The Coordinator of Household Life is responsible for the formation of Household leadership, retreats, Household Masses, and Household sponsored social events. The Coordinator of Household Life is responsible to promote Household Life campus wide.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.     Oversee all aspects of Household Life including but not limited to formation, retreats, conflict resolution, Household Masses, Household fairs, recruitment of advisors, regular visits to Household commitments and maintenance of records related to Household.  Address disciplinary issues regarding Households and maintain a regular presence within Households.

2.     Plan, organize, and execute Household Olympics, Dodgeball Tournament and the Resurrection Party.

3.     In conjunction with the Director of Evangelization and Household Life, develop and execute a plan for the assessment of Household Life.

4.     Collaborate with other Student Life Staff, pastoral staff and other departments to support and advance the Household Life system.  Meets monthly with Residence Directors.

5.     Develop and execute a formation plan for Household Coordinators.

6.     Maintain records of household intent and induction processes. Update as necessary. Monitor and train for hazing prevention.

REQUIREMENTS

Must understand, support and embrace the mission of Franciscan University of Steubenville and possess the following:

 

Work Experience

·         1-3 years of experience in Campus Ministry, Missionary Work or another related field.

·         Demonstrated ability to build relationships and guide, develop and mentor young people.

·         Planning:  Accurately assesses the complexity and difficulty of specific projects.  Breaks down projects into steps and specific tasks.  Takes steps to anticipate obstacles or problems.

 

Education

·         Bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministry, Catechetics, Theology or a related field.

 

 

Technical Skills

·         Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

·         Proficient in the use of social media and graphic design.

·         Experience in managing a budget and utilizing a data management system.

 

Workplace Factors

·         Nights and weekends often required.
