Position Reports to:  Senior Instructional Designer and Technologist

FLSA Status:  Non-exempt

Schedule:  Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (negotiable); occasional onsite evenings or weekends, as required.

POSITION SUMMARY

The eLearning Specialist is a critical member of Franciscan University’s eLearning team whose job it is to direct all functions of this fast-paced office team.  Responsibilities include welcoming office guests, directing phone calls, sending and receiving email communications regarding online support issues and working closely with the Academic Affairs area to prepare and maintain faculty payroll reports for online courses each semester.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1.     Answer office phones, provide level 1 support, and direct inquiries to the appropriate team member.

2.     Greet walk-in guests, provide level 1 support, and direct others to the appropriate team member.

3.     Answer online inquiries and support questions and track support calls and results on the eLearning support call log.

4.     Manage eLearning office and provide administrative support to eLearning team.

5.     Schedule meetings for eLearning team and manage departmental schedule of processes and activities.

6.     Maintain and track lists for course builds and course updates each semester.

7.     Maintain and track forms for various stages of online course builds, refreshes, and offerings.

8.     Prepare and maintain faculty payroll reports each semester.

9.     Assist with online course updates and builds.

·         Demonstrated excellence and passion for supporting and communicating with online students’ academic and technical needs via telephone, web conferencing, chat, and email as well as demonstrated tact and discretion.

·         Demonstrated excellence and passion for supporting and communicating with online faculty members’ needs via phone, web conferencing and in-person interactions with utmost tact and discretion.

·         Demonstrated excellence and passion for organization and management of office work and meeting schedules, training schedules, checklists, project due dates, and other eLearning related activities.

Education/Credentials

 

·         Associate degree.

 

Technical Skills

 

·         Demonstrated proficiency in using and supporting Office 365 suite of products as well as willingness to learn other tech tools and systems, as needed.

 

Workplace Factors

 

·         Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (negotiable).

·         Occasional on-site evenings or weekends, as required.
