Franciscan University of Steubenville is looking for a Gift Processing Specialist to process all non-cash gifts and pledges and assist the Gift Processing Coordinator in processing cash gifts and in providing exceptional service to benefactors.



1.     Process daily non-cash batches of University gifts including mobile and online donations, as well as phone-a-thon and manual credit cards, accurately and with adherence to the highest standards of financial accountability.


2.     Assist in processing cash, checks, stock certificates, gifts-in-kind, conference gifts, Canadian gifts, as well as ensure the proper designation of gifts from Community Relations and Athletic Department events.


3.     Ensure entries into Raiser’s Edge are accurate, timely, and complete through regular verification and maintenance procedures.  This includes making sure proper steps are taken to handle financial instruments and constituent records with security and confidentiality.


4.     In collaboration with other University units, formulate, propose and implement enhanced operational processes.


5.     Work closely with Business Services to handle deposits, reporting, and audits.

Work Experience

·         Experience in banking, bookkeeping, or financial systems. Ability to use 10-key pad preferred.

·         Project management experience preferred.

·         Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge software preferred.

·         Process Management: Is effective at identifying and organizing various process steps into an efficient work flow.

·         Strategic Thinking: Can develop effective strategies as well as workable implementation plans.

·         Quality of Work: Consistently checks work for accuracy, appropriateness and completeness.



·         Associates degree required.

·         Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience acceptable.


Technical Skills

·         Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.

·         Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge desired.


Workplace Factors

·         Ability to travel from building to building to attend meetings as well as daily delivery/pick up of mail/deposits to other departments.
