Title: Extended Care Coordinator
Reports to: Headmaster
Status: Part-Time, approximately 18-20 hours per week
Hours: M-Th 3:00pm-6:00pm, F 12:15pm-6pm, other hours as needed
Qualifications
Associates or Undergraduate degree
Preferred: from an accredited university that coheres with and supports Saint Joseph Academy’s mission.
Experience working in an educational environment.
Experience working with and managing children TK-7th grade. Ability to maintain discipline and order in a loving and respectful manner.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, excellent organizational skills.
Position Overview
The Extended Care Coordinator manages the extended care program at Saint Joseph Academy. This entails supervising students (TK-7th grade) after school in a structured and loving environment, managing timesheets for students for billing and administrative needs, documenting behavior and communicating behavior to parents, and being available to parents for questions.
Essential Responsibilities
Fully support and promote the mission, pedagogy, curriculum, and all programs of Saint Joseph
Academy within the school and community, including following, supporting, and enforcing all SJA
policies.
Adhere to all rules and policies of Saint Joseph Academy and maintain the same expectations for students.
Monitor and manage students in extended care with loving firmness and discipline.
Maintain the organization and quality of materials/supplies and systems.
Maintain a structured, calm, disciplined environment.
Provide clear expectations and regulations to students and parents in a loving manner.
Organize and coordinate the Homework Club, Monday-Thursday, by sending weekly reminder emails and answering teacher questions.
Document behavior infractions and communicate infractions to parents in a timely manner.
In Renweb, clock all students in and out of morning care, and clock all students into aftercare after check in.
Manage student timesheets and correct errors.
Be responsive to parents’ emails, questions, and concerns.
Inform parents in a timely manner of any changes or new information to the program.
