Saint Vincent de Paul High School is seeking a math teacher for the 2021-2022 academic year to help fulfill its mission of guiding students to encounter Jesus Christ in His transforming truth and love. We are seeking a teacher committed to revealing how man’s ability to both recognize and create the beauty, harmony, and proportion of mathematical patterns point to the grandeur of human reason and the glory of the God in whose image man is made.

By exploring mathematical ideas with wonder articulated in precise questioning and ordered toward understanding, the teacher will guide students in growing in the capacity for creative and attentive thought grounded in deductive logic.  The teacher will help students see beyond the practical utility of mathematical application to its fostering of virtues that can be extrapolated to other disciplines but ultimately at the service of contemplation itself.

The teacher will develop and maintain collaborative, productive work relationships with colleagues, students, parents and any other individuals in a position to meet student needs and advance their growth, development, and achievement.

A bachelor’s degree is required. Given archdiocesan policies, Missouri teacher certification is helpful but not immediately required, such that its absence should not deter you from applying.
