Clinical Educator for Speech-Language Pathology


The University of Mary is seeking applicants interested in joining the Department of SLP at the rank of a Clinical Educator. This is an eight-month, full time position scheduled to begin in Fall 2022. Main responsibilities of the position are clinical supervision of graduate students, clinical administration, including managing and tracking student progress in their clinical education, clinical coordination with practicum and externship sites, and teaching undergraduate courses and clinical graduate courses. Additional responsibilities include scholarship, service to the university, commitment towards professional development, and potential administrative duties assigned by the Program Chair.

Minimum Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure Required:

·       M.S. or M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology, Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), and eligibility for North Dakota SLP license.

·       Preferred: A doctorate (PhD or EdD) in Speech-Language Pathology, Speech-Language Science, or related disciplines.


Qualifications Include:

·       Minimum of three years of clinical experience after obtaining CCC-ASHA

·       Preferred: Work experience in pediatric SLP settings.

·       Excellent organizational, communication (verbal and written), advanced diagnostic and therapeutic skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle confidential information in accordance with HIPAA and FERPA.

·       Sustain necessary physical activity level in required classroom and clinical activities

·       Respond quickly to provide a safe environment for clients in emergency situations including fire, choking, etc.

·       Upholds and supports the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary

·       Supports the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities

·       Builds a culture of ready and earnest hospitality in the School of Health Sciences and throughout the university, in accord with Saint Benedict’s admonition that all be received as Christ
