Head Women’s Volleyball Coach
The Head Women’s Volleyball Coach is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the University of Mary’s NCAA Division II Women’s Volleyball program, including strategic planning, budgeting, recruitment, personnel management, and fostering relationships within the community. Essential Roles and Responsibilities Include:
Scholar-Athlete & Team Academic Success
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to academic excellence
• Provides guidance to scholar-athletes to ensure a balance between academics and athletics, promoting satisfactory academic progress
• Stays informed on NCAA Division II and NSIC eligibility requirements
• Develops and implements criteria and success plans to support scholar-athletes’ academic growth
Scholar-Athlete & Team Athletic Success
• Exhibits a dedication to athletic success
• Strives for a winning record or consistent improvement within the program
• Creates and executes a clear, effective recruitment strategy for scholar-athletes
• Demonstrates strong recruitment skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other athletics department members
• Possesses the knowledge necessary to enhance athletic performance and success
Scholar-Athlete & Team Compliance
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge and compliance with University, NSIC, and NCAA rules and regulations, ensuring all aspects of the program adhere to these standards
Scholar-Athlete Leadership & Whole Person Development
• Promotes the ‘Greatness Through Virtue’ whole-person development model
• Fosters a positive team culture rooted in Solidarity & Harmony
• Develops and emphasizes Virtuous Leadership among scholar-athletes
Scholar-Athlete Safety, Health & Well Being
• Ensures the well-being of scholar-athletes, through access to and enhancement of:
• Athletic training
• Mental health services
• Nutritional guidance
• Team travel logistics
• Housing coordination
• Establishment of team policies and procedures
• Providing individual counseling and support
Community Integration
• Develops and implements strategic marketing and social media plans
• Enhances the fan experience during games
• Encourages faculty and student body involvement
• Builds strong traditions to promote engagement within the program
Program Management
• Demonstrates fiscal responsibility, including management of the budget, scholarships, scheduling, and student-athlete support
• Ensures the smooth operation of the volleyball program with the support of the athletics department
Athletic Fundraising
• Actively participates in promoting and growing the Marauders Armada
• Creates and maintains fundraising activities for the volleyball program
Qualifications include:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Masters’ degree preferred
• A minimum of 3-5 years of previous coaching experience required
• Upholds and promotes the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary
• Supports the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities
• Builds a culture of ready and earnest hospitality in the Office of Intercollegiate Athletics and throughout the university in accord with Saint Benedict’s admonition that all be received as Christ
Knowledge and Skills include:
• Ability to integrate the ‘Greatness Through Virtue’ core strategies and promote the growth of scholar-athletes
• Experience balancing academic and athletic responsibilities for scholar-athletes
• Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and strong communication skills
• Ability to maintain an organized, professional work environment and meet reporting deadlines
• Strong prioritization skills and ability to work independently
• Experience working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, including scholar-athletes, faculty, parents, and staff
• Understanding of best practices for supporting scholar-athletes, particularly those at risk for attrition
• Knowledge of federal laws and regulations regarding higher education
• Familiarity with NCAA Division II and NSIC rules and regulations

Major Gifts Officer
The Major Gifts Officer secures funds for the organization by managing a group of assigned, qualified donors (caseload), ensuring as many as possible are retained as continuing donors to the organization and are upgraded in their giving and involvement. This role requires the ability to travel both locally and nationally on a regular basis and the ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as expected.
Candidates will be invited to demonstrate a willingness to support the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities Include:
• Qualify and maintain a caseload of 100-150 Major Gift donors
• Create individual goals and cultivation plans for each donor in the caseload based on capacity and affinity to the University. In a timely and methodical manner, the MGO will execute these plans
• Work with constituent groups within the University the MGO will gather case information and create compelling "Case for support" documents
• Coordinate cultivation and solicitation visits with donor/University staff as needed
• Serve as a resource to other Mission Advancement Staff in the identification and cultivation of supporters
• Prepares and submits a monthly dashboard report to the Asst. VP of Mission Advancement
• Performs other related duties as requested and assigned
Desired Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Experience include:

Knowledge and Skills Required:
• Bachelor's degree required
• Master's degree preferred
• Required qualifications include a minimum of 5 years of experience successfully cultivating and soliciting six and seven figure gifts for both restricted and unrestricted campaigns and previous experience balancing annual needs with ambitious capital campaign goals and donor priorities.
• Preferred qualifications include 10 years of experience successfully cultivating and soliciting six and seven figure gifts, a CFRE credential or other advanced credentials, and/or experience creating planned giving programs.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, analytical, problem solving, and time management skills.
• Understanding of direct marketing principles and relational donor bases
• Working knowledge of planned giving methods
• Thorough understanding of the Donor Bill of Rights
