Student Success Support Coach

UST is a diverse and vibrant urban environment with professional opportunities and we are currently seeking a Student Success Support Coach for the Title V CHART grant.

This position reports to the Project Manager and Lead Student Success Support Coach. The Student Success Coach will manage a student caseload and deliver hands-on, intrusive, proactive student support influenced by the coaching theory of Bettinger and Baker and the cultural wealth and cultural awareness theories of Nora, Rendon, et. al. This position will coach students, arrange for peer mentor training, and ensure students are accessing and completing wrap-around service referrals. Coaches will monitor the data collected on students coached and support the Project Director and Program Manager with the collection of student academic, performance, and retention data, research, and peer-to-peer mentoring data. The Student Success Coach will provide program and student data collection and evaluation support to the Title V Project Director, Program Manager, and program evaluator as requested.

Responsibilities:

Complete and maintain records for grant reporting and internal campus reporting
Provide referrals to wrap-around support services for Hispanic and low-income students
Coach students and track and report usage of other wrap-around services as appropriate
Work with Project Director, Program Manager, and UST administration to institutionalize improvements.
Will work with the Project Director, Program Managers, other Success Coaches, and Peer Mentors to ensure all Title V project goals and objectives are completed on time and within budget.
Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

MA/MS in Advising or a related discipline.
Three years of experience supporting low-income, first-generation and underrepresented students.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent rapport with university-wide communities and external resources.
Familiarity with education fields.
Bilingual skills will be preferred.

This is a federally funded, five-year, full-time, year-round, benefit-eligible professional position.
