The University of St. Thomas (UST), a private Catholic University committed to the liberal arts and the religious and intellectual tradition of Catholic higher education, located in Houston, Texas, near the vibrant central business district, Texas Medical Center, and museum district, is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty member at the rank of assistant professor in the Department of History. Target start date is the Fall 2021 semester.

General Description:

The Department of History is seeking a European generalist. Specialty is open, though the candidate will be expected to teach European course work from the Middle Ages through the Modern era in support of undergraduate majors and masters-level coursework.

 

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a terminal degree in History.

Prior classroom teaching experience is preferred.

Interested candidates must provide a comprehensive resume and cover letter, evidence of a commitment to teaching excellence, three professional reference, and a statement demonstrating willingness to support the tenets of Catholic higher education as articulated in Ex Corde Ecclesiae.
