Nursing Enrollment Specialist

The University of St. Thomas, a private university located in Houston, Texas is committed to the liberal arts and to the religious and intellectual tradition of Catholic higher education, is seeking a Nursing Enrollment Specialist in the Office of the Registrar.

Purpose: The Nursing Enrollment Specialist will serve as an expert staff within the Office of the Registrar to manage and conduct enrollment for new and current students in the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program. The ABSN program has new cohorts starting and graduating three times a year. This person will need to be able to work with other internal offices for collaboration efforts to ensure a great student experience with enrollment in courses during their program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct enrollment management functions to facilitate onboarding new ABSN students each semester.
Manage batch enrollment for new and current students in the ABSN program.
Work with the ABSN Program Director and ABSN Success Coaches to assist with student’s out-of-progression enrollment.
Maintain accurate reports of current ABSN cohort groups including Pre-ABSN and Transfer ABSN populations for the Peavy School of Nursing.
Oversee graduation application process for ABSN students.
Review students’ records after matriculation to ensure all required application documentation has been received.
Create communications flow for students to ensure they are informed of the actions needed for timely enrollment and graduation.
Assign and update advisors of record for ABSN population as needed.
Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree is preferred
Minimum of 2 years of working in a college or university Registrar’s office with particular focus on enrollment duties
Previous experience with data reporting and query development preferred
Excellent software skills with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional 2010 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access) and PeopleSoft
Demonstrated writing proficiency for development of program reports, catalogs, recruitment/promotional material, and correspondence
A strong customer service orientation is vital to the success of the position
Abilities to handle multiple tasks with effective organization skills and attention detail
Results oriented with a focus on meeting deadlines
Exceptional communication skills
Ability to work independently and part of a team
