Open-Rank Professor – Sports Psychology (AY 2024-2025)

The University of St. Thomas (UST), a private Catholic university committed to the liberal arts and the religious and intellectual tradition of Catholic higher education, invites applications from outstanding candidates for a full-time, non-tenure track, Open-Rank Professor position in the Department of Psychology. Candidates with demonstrated record of teaching effectiveness and student engagement will be given priority.

The start date for the position is August 1, 2024. Review of applications will begin October 30, 2023, and continue until the position is filled. Applications will only be considered with fully completed required documents.

Responsibilities:

This position will teach required courses, as determined by the Department Chair, as well as have the freedom to propose new courses that fit their expertise and interests. This position will teach an annual course load of 24 contact hours at the graduate level in the Master’s in Applied Sport and Performance Psychology (MASPP) program and undergraduate level for the Psychology Department. The successful candidate will provide service work as needed by the department and the university, such as academic advising in support of the department (undergraduate and graduate level) and mentorship for the MASPP program. New hire will be required to conduct necessary service and maintain active research portfolio per current policy for Promotion & Tenure.

Eligibility:

Ph.D. in Psychology in related field (e.g., Sport, Counseling, Clinical, I/O). ABD in Psychology will be considered but the degree must be completed by the time of appointment. Excellence in teaching and service; and a commitment to the university’s mission are requirements for the position. Administrative experience a plus.
