Veterans Service Grant Program Manager
VETSTART Grant Project 2022 – 2025
The University of St. Thomas, a private university (www.stthom.edu) committed to the liberal arts and to the religious and intellectual tradition of Catholic higher education, is seeking a Veterans Service Grant Program Manager for the VETSTART grant. This full-time position reports to the Project Director and is the central point of contact for grant program activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Day-to-day grant operations, partnerships, and outreach.
Tracking and reporting on veteran student enrollment, retention, persistence, and graduation rates.
Providing coaching services to students.
Referring students for additional supportive services, academic support, refresher courses, additional tutoring, and mentoring as necessary.
Creating partnerships and sponsorships with veteran-friendly and veteran-serving agencies, groups, and organizations.
Supporting project evaluation; working with Project Director, Program Evaluator, and OSR to submit annual and final performance reports.
Qualifications and Requirements
Master’s degree and background in social services, education, psychology, or counseling.
Seven years of experience serving veterans at the college level
Three years as a program director with budget, compliance, and outreach duties.
Excellent presentation and writing skills.
Excellent rapport with university-wide communities and external resources.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Veterans will receive preference for this position, particularly those who have participated in veteran student support programs.
This is a federally funded, full-time, year-round, benefit-eligible professional position.
Funded by the US Department of Education OPE PPOHA Program, 2020-2025.
